I went earlier today and ordered deep friend California rolls and spring rolls. The place is so cute and the spring rolls were great but the deep fried California rolls were soft and under fried. I would know because Kami Japanese Restaurant fries them to a perfect crisp. They weren't too bad though.

Feels like average street side sushi joint...
Tastes like the same....
Nothing exceptional about this place but on the other hand, nothing offensive either.
If your hungry, sure, if you're looking for great memorable meal, definitely take a pass on this place. -

This was me and my boyfriend's first time at Aomori and we had a fairly good experience. My bf doesn't usually like the "fishy" taste sashimi has but he actually enjoyed their spicy salmon sashimi. It was probably one of the freshest sashimi dishes I've had in surrey. I got the salmon, cream cheese & avocado roll and my bf got the deep fried California roll. My roll was a little too cheesy but other than that it was pretty good. My bf's roll was amazing! Overall, the service was amazing and the food was pretty good for the price! I will come here again.

This is one of the best sushi restaurants around my area. I am very picky when it comes to sushi and this place is my favourite. Very friendly staff and always very welcoming when I enter the store. I love trying all the different rolls and the Vegas roll is an all time favourite!

I generally give stars based on a mixed review of quality and service.
4 Stars is due to the service. The sushi itself is okay and nothing special, but then again - at that price point... you really shouldn't complain.
I got an order or negitoro (green onions with toro chopped and put into a simple roll), nigiri: saba (mackerel), ebi (shrimp), masago (fish eggs), maguro (tuna), hamachi (white tuna?? BangUh in Korean) and sake (salmon). honestly it is as good as you'll get in West Coast with this price. It was cheap, satisfying and great.
The fish pieces I got on top of my nigiri were disproportionate (more fish than rice), meaning: it doesn't constitute to the norms but were AMAZING. Biggest piece of hamachi nigiri i had since i was in a fancy 5 star place in L.A, CA. Soft and seasoned perfectly... I will be finding this place again for my regular sushi needs.
If you do want a 5 star, $200 experience though, then I recommend some place in Vancouver or my personal fav: Shiro's in Seattle (be prepared to spend upwards of $350 for a decent meal/sake for two).
Cheers.
